HARRISBURG – Rep. Keith Greiner (R-Lancaster) is pleased to learn that Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories, Inc. – one of Lancaster County’s largest employers – will substantially expand its operation in Upper Leacock Township to create as many as 350 new jobs.
The company, located in the 43rd Legislative District, announced it will begin construction next month on a $59 million, five-story 168,000-square foot facility, which will house state-of-the-art testing labs and offices.
“State Sen., now Congressman, Lloyd Smucker and I had the privilege of hosting Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) Secretary Dennis Davin in Lancaster County and took that opportunity to make Davin aware of the world-class scientific research facility right in our own backyards,” said Greiner. “I’m pleased to have one of Lancaster County’s fastest growing businesses here in my hometown. I will continue to work cooperatively with the administration to strengthen our business climate and create family sustaining jobs.
“Today’s announcement is particularly meaningful because I worked for Lancaster Laboratories in the 1980s, during high school and college, when Earl Hess was the company president and there were only 50 employees,” said Greiner. “Hess taught me a lot about hard work, business, ethics and customer service. These are values that I carry with me to this day and for which I will be forever grateful.”
Eurofins announced that it is receiving funding through DCED that includes a $1 million Pennsylvania First Program Grant and Job Creation Tax Credits of $1,050,000 upon creation of the new jobs.
Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories Inc., provides analytical testing services to the bio-pharmaceutical, environmental, food and medical device industries.
