Greiner to Host Roadway Cleanup
LAMPETER – Rep. Keith J. Greiner (R-Upper Leacock) is looking for volunteers to help clean up the roads in the Leola area to mark Earth Day.

“This is a simple way for residents to remove pollution from our roadways and show community pride,” said Greiner. “We are looking to enlist the help of individuals, families and teams for this event. Upper Leacock Township is going to look great when we are finished!”

The cleanup will take place on Saturday, April 20, from 8 a.m. to noon. Volunteers will meet at the Leola Community Park. Greiner will provide coffee and donuts to participants, and PennDOT will supply gloves and trash bags.

Greiner noted that Earth Day is Monday, April 22, and that his cleanup event is taking place during a period when there are many opportunities in Lancaster County to remove litter from the environment.

“We have registered our event on the Great American Cleanup of Pennsylvania website, and we are expecting an impressive turnout,” said Greiner. “Seeing litter along the roadways really bothers me. This trash ends up in our waterways and degrades the beauty of our community. I encourage citizens to pick up litter anytime they see it, not just during large-scale events like this.”

Residents can register to participate by calling Greiner’s office at (717) 464-5285 or online at and A link to other area cleanup events is also available at Greiner’s website.
